UALL 2017 Annual Conference, York - 5 to 7 April: Outline Programme and Registration

News

I’m pleased to let you know that preparations for the 2017 Conference are almost complete, and this year promises to be another successful event. Once again, we have had a very good response to the Call for Papers – with the same number of proposals as last year.  We have an impressive line-up for the international panel, as well as a number of international papers, continuing our increasing worldwide profile. We now have confirmed keynote speakers, who are:

Professor Karen Stanton, Vice Chancellor, York St John University
Professor Alice Warren, Vice Provost for Continuing Education, North Carolina State University, President of the Universities Professional Continuing Education Association

The theme of the Conference: Lifelong learning: Local, regional and international? addresses lifelong learning which enhances local, regional and global development as well as sustainable partnerships for economic and social development.  Presenters of papers have the opportunity to be considered for publication in a special issue of a mainstream journal.

The Annual Conference is the high point of the UALL year, and we are pleased that the 2017 Conference will be held at the Monkbar Hotel, York between Wednesday, 5 and Friday, 7 April.  The outline Conference Programme and the Registration Form are attached.  You can also register online at: https://www.uall.ac.uk/annual-conference/booking/2018?auditEventRecorded

The Conference will start on the Wednesday evening with an informal buffet at which we welcome all our delegates, international members and guests to York.  This will be followed by two days’ conference and will finish on Friday with lunch.  The Drinks Reception and Conference Dinner will be held on the Thursday evening in the spectacular medieval surroundings of the Merchant Taylors Hall.

I very much hope you will be able to join us, and I would be grateful if you could circulate details of our conference to your colleagues and to anyone within your institution who may be interested in joining us in York.

I look forward to seeing you in April.

With best wishes,

Lucy
