Learning in the Third Age for Migrants and Refugees

This project is funded by the British Academy with the Researchers at Risk scheme for Ukrainian academics, and funds Dr Ievgeniia Dragomirova for two years from 2022-24. Her research in Glasgow and in Belfast will extend her previous interests in third age learning, and has a particular focus on older migrants who have recently entered the UK from places in crisis. A focus on adult education and migration fits very closely to two of the core themes of the School of Education (refugee and migrant education and adult education), and will contribute to the school's interests on how research and development can contribute to local development. Dr Dragomirova is mentored for this work by CR&DALL core member Professor Ellen Boeren.
