AAACE Webinar - Lessons Learned and Implications for the Future: Adult Education’s Response to COVID-19

Event
*** ONLINE WEBINAR ***
Marietta, GA 30067-5350
United States
Wednesday, 11 November, 2020 - 14:00 to 15:30

You are invited to participate in a discussion of adult basic, secondary, and transitions education’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Led by Drs. Alisa Belzer, Margaret Patterson, and Jen Vanek, this webinar will include a description of findings from the Evidence-Based Adult Education System (E-BAES) taskforce inquiry completed in May 2020.

Using a two-pronged approach, the team used interviews and surveys to describe the instructional and programmatic shifts made in response to stay-at-home orders, in addition to the challenges and successes programs have experienced. Findings captured a detailed picture of shared experiences and unique innovations while raising important implications for policy, practice, and research about effective distance learning, professional development, access to technology and broadband, and needed learner support.

After presenting synopses of key findings, panelists will facilitate group discussions about implications and potential applications of “lessons learned” to various contexts of adult education.

If you have questions, please send them to [email protected].
