About this Event

In the current climate of COVID-19, interactions with groups, communities and individuals are increasingly taking place virtually, through the wealth of available remote platforms. These new technologies bring challenges to literacy researchers and practitioners both in learning to use the technology and also in selecting effective techniques.

One option is to use asynchronous communication by email or post; perhaps setting activities or questionnaires to be completed and returned. These have their place, and also their limitations, especially when engaging in literacy and wanting to promote dialogue and interaction.

Some researchers and practitioners are grasping the opportunity to use new technologies creatively with sometimes surprising outcomes.

Thursday, 22 October 2020 11:00 – 13:00 BST

This online, real-time Zoom event will explore how technological solutions can open up creative spaces for real-time interaction and dialogue. There will be opportunities to engage in small group discussions, experience open-source technologies and resources as well as to hear directly from creative literacy practitioners and researchers sharing their experiences. Register here.

We would like to know more about those who will be participating in this event to help in our planning.
