DVV International: Kyrgyzstan

The next global conference on adult learning and education (ALE) is approaching for 2022 in Morocco. National reports are now being analysed, and a new GRALE 5 will be published on active citizenship education by the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL).

Several sub-regional consultations have taken place already, more are underway. The dates can be accessed via the UIL website. The one for Europe and North America is planned for 8 and 9 September https://uil.unesco.org/event/regional-consultation-europe-and-north-america-preparation-seventh-international-conference

UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty for Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and DVV International Regional Office for Central Asia in Bishkek called for a Report on "CONFINTEA VII Central Asia Sub-regional Report. Challenges, opportunities, and recommendations for ALE in Central Asia and beyond." A team of authors (Anastasia Dmitrienko, Chris Duke, Heribert Hinzen, Karlyga Myssayeva) applied and after a job done in difficult times have now submitted the Final Report which is attached herewith.

This will be part of the Asia Pacific Review Conference where the outcomes from all five sub-regional consultations will be discussed and recommendations brought forward to the global level. For those interested in a comparative view they may want to look at the Asia Pacific Review prepared for CONFINTEA VI in 2009 by Manzoor Ahmed, also attached.

Finally, attached is the CONFINTEA VI Mid-term Review from the conference in Suwon / Osan in Korea from 2017. It provides some understanding how the discussions on ALE are leading into a deeper integration of CONFINTEA and the SDG.
