Groundwork and preparation for a research study to adapt, develop and test the implementation effectiveness of ‘A Stop Smoking In Schools Trial’ (ASSIST) in LMIC settings

News

Congratulations to Kate Reid who is amongst the team who have been successful in winning a new grant, that is supported using funds supplied by the Scottish Funding Council for projects linked to the Global Challenges Research Programme.

ASSIST is an effective, informal peer-led and schools-based smoking prevention intervention implemented in UK and France. The intervention demonstrates potential for adaptation to wider populations including cross-cultural applications. This project lays foundations for a major GCRF proposal to adapt, test and extend the intervention in LMIC settings.
