We are happy to announce the EAN 27th Annual Conference will take place on 6th-8th June, 2018 at The Hague University of Applied Science in The Hague, International City of Peace and Justice, The Netherlands.

Conference theme: The Power of Accountability in Access, Retention and Success.

We have the passion, the commitment, and the research. We have implementation efforts, but a lot still has to be done in achieving equity in access, retention and success for all students. How do we get to the next phase of our work? The challenges are layered and sustainability of our efforts is a complex issue. Leadership, accountability and ownership are often decisive for success.

Key questions:

• What strategies can institutions implement to create transparency and accountability in access for all?
• What type of leadership is needed on what level?
• How are faculty members, professors, lecturers and instructors held accountable in creating inclusive learning environments for all students?
• What are the tensions and challenges faced in the classroom in order to (given all their responsibilities) ensure equitable access for all students, especially underserved students?
• What are the students’ perspectives on access, retention and success? How are they being held accountable for achieving that?
• What is the role of community members in involvement and engagement?
• How can policy makers develop more equitable access and retention strategies to influence institutions, classrooms and community members as a whole? How can we (educators) inform policy makers in their decision making strategies?
• How do we make our implementation sustainable and normalised? How do we know when we are successful and what are the indicators for success in accountability?
