The Chair of the Hub, Seamus O'Tuama, will be the guest lecturer at Chulalongkorn University to unravel the Five Concepts of Lifelong Learning Capital, providing profound insights into the evolving landscape of education.

Former Dean of the Faculty of Education and Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the university, Professor J.E. (Teddy) Thomas, passed away aged 89 on Tuesday 11 July 2023. A major figure in adult education nationally and internationally, he served as Reader and later Robert Peers Professor of Adult Education at the University of Nottingham, as well as Deputy Head and Head of the Department of Adult Education.
A half-day symposium to launch the book, Access, Lifelong Learning and Education for All, in commemoration of the late Professor Jim Gallacher was held on Friday 6 October 2023 at Glasgow Caledonian University. The event was opened by Professor Andrea Nelson (Pro Vice-Chancellor, Glasgow Caledonian University).
There will be an in-person and online webinar event about about research in different agro-pastoralist and pastoralist communities in Africa. The in-person activity will from 1100-1500 on 4 November 2023 in the Clarice Pears Building School of Health & Wellbeing, University Of, 90 Byres Rd, Glasgow G12 8TB. The webinar "Livestock, risks and wellbeing in pastoralists and agro-pastoralists in sub-Saharan Africa" will be online between 3-4pm.
This online event is part of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities Lifelong Learning Festival from 30 October to 3 November 2023 being held in Shanghai, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Global Network of Learning Cities. The 17th Higher Education Reform conference was held from 21-23 June at the Univesity of Glasgow with some 150+ delegates from 30 countries hosted by CR&DALL. The focus of HER over the years has been research investigating various aspects of policy reforms and other major changes in higher education, and at this conference the specific focus was the role of universities in addressing the SDGs. We have pleasure in posting now concluding remarks made by HER Board member, Germán Álvarez Mendiola, Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados (Cinvestav), Mexico. We also attach the final programme for the conference with all abstracts. Many of these are in the process of being developed into book chapters and journal articles.
Our close friends and colleagues, Rajesh Tandon and Budd Hall oversee the Knowledge for Change Mentor Training Programme (MTP) in Community-based research. This programme offers learning opportunities for university and community knowledge workers to take a 21-week course in teaching Community Based Research, and has been operating for five years.

We are pleased to announce the second of a series of Leverhulme lectures by Professor Nematollah Azizi. The lecture will be delivered at Swansea University on 19th October 2023 at 11:00 in Building 11.1, Glyndwr D, Singleton Campus. The lecture is entitled, 'Pedagogical Capabilities in Islam to Create, Maintain and Develop Justice-oriented Learning Cities', and is open to all.
Global sustainable development requires actionable evidence for change which can only be produced through collaboration between researchers, practitioners and advocates. This event will promote a discussion on ways through which non-governmental organizations and researchers can work together to improve programmes, public policies and practices. It will provide an opportunity to learn more about cross sector collaboration, potential partnership areas and funding opportunities.
