CR&DALL was delighted to co-host a joint seminar and workshop at the School of Education in the University of Glasgow on May 28th and the 29th funded by the Scottish Funding Council from its contribution to the University of Glasgow’s efforts to develop activities concerned with the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF). The two events were organised as part of the project The role of universities in developing skills for Smart Cities, led by Dr Srabani Maitra (School of Education), Professor Mike Osborne (School of Education), Professor Muhammad Imran (School of Engineering) and Dr Seth Agbo (University of Lakehead, Canada).

Building Good Sustainable Communities through the Learning City EcCoWell Approach

EcCoWell was developed by the PASCAL International Observatory in 2012 (PIE), based on the experience of Taipei city, as an approach to developing learning cities in a holistic and cohesive manner. The emergence of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, with a similar requirement for holistic development has enhanced the significance of the EcCoWell experience.

The University of Zimbabwe in association with the Centre for Research and Development in Adult and Lifelong Learning (CR&DALL) at the University of Glasgow and the PASCAL Observatory at the University of Johannesburg and the University of Glasgow invite you to a conference celebrating the role of universities in developing the infrastructure of cities through strengthening their urban engagement roles.  The conference will be held on 9/10 May 2019 at the Cresta Lodge Hotel, Harare.

On YouTube the vlog channel "Aging for Beginners" has launched. Populations are aging, our customers are aging, we all in person are in the process of aging, but the acquisition of knowledge about normal aging is still based on a trial and error method. The professional ager Tiina Tambaum shows in her vlogs what are the needs of normally ageing persons, and together with the successful ager Ants Värnik they discuss age-related things.
