Summary biography:
Maggie McColl is a Senior Lecturer in Museum and Art Education in the School of Education at the University of Glasgow. Her research interests concern why do we make art, the museum as a source of learning (learning in and through the museum), creativity (the creative process and the transferability of creative skills), partnerships in Teacher Education (new and effective models of partnership (clinical practice)) and quality experiences in Teacher Education: developing effective learning experiences for teacher education students.
She is member of the PASCAL Observatory's, Harnessing Museums, Heritage and Education Learning Cities Network, and is a co-editor of the forthcoming Routledge Handbook of Museum and Heritage Education. In 2022 she was successful in winning funding of €5.5m to lead a new Erasmus Mundus International Masters degree: Education in Museums and Heritage, which of course will have close intersections with the field of adult education.
