The pluridisciplinary research group GIRSEF (focussed on sociology, psychology and education) was founded in 1998 at the Université catholique de Louvain. The main purpose of the group is to develop fundamental research in the education and training field. The research developed so far is principally centred on education and training systems regulation. Since October 2007, the Girsef has grown to welcome new colleagues and new research teams. Our research priorities are now organised around 3 fields held by 3 units :

- Instructional practices and environment, motivation and learning
- Life course, training and profession

The Asia South Pacific Association for Basic and Adult Education (ASPBAE) is a regional association of more than 200 organisations and individuals. It works towards promoting quality education for all and transformative and liberating, life-long adult education and learning. It strives to strengthen an Asia-Pacific movement to support community and people's organizations, national education coalitions, teachers unions, campaign networks, and other civil society groups and institutions in holding governments and the international donor community accountable in meeting education targets and commitments.

Nike Sneakers Store | M2k TeknoThe ASEM LLL Hub, established in 2005, is an official network of Asian and European higher education institutions, working and learning together to achieve excellence in comparative research on lifelong learning, to offer research-based education policy recommendation, and to develop mutual understanding between Asia and Europe. It also facilitates researcher and student mobility and exchange within and between the two world regions.
The ASEM LLL Hub provides a platform for dialogue between researchers, practitioners and policy makers in order to contribute to evidence-based educational reform and innovation. Its five research networks exchange knoweldge, conduct comparative research and produce coordinated publications and reports. In parallel with five active research networks, the Hub has a Hub University Council composed of senior representatives from its partner universities (currently, 36 representatives from 36 universities in 28 ASEM countries) and a Hub Advisory Board that at present brings together 25 national ministries and 5 international organizations.
In cooperation with partner universities and ASEM governments, the ASEM LLL Hub together with its five research networks organizes every year seminars and conferences, publishes books and disseminates information on its website. At ASEM LLL conferences, the research results are presented to the public, representatives of ASEM ministries and academic communities.

PASCAL is a response to the growing international demand from cities, regional and local governments and other organisations for knowledge and expertise which can be quickly mobilised to support the development and assessment of initiatives relating to the development and renewal of place, including social, economic and cultural development, and with particular emphasis on the role of social capital and lifelong learning.
PASCAL is both an observatory which collects, consolidates and organises knowledge, and a 'think and do' tank: our whole approach is geared to working to bring global thinking to the practical solution of local and regional issues. We offer a unique approach based on:
We are an independent not-for-profit organisation. We draw our members from regional governmental orgnaisations, universities and other organisations in the policy and research communities. We work collaboratively with our members, seeking to provide solutions to issues through a whole variety of activities which best fit the particular context in question. These activites include major international research and development programmes, inputs to local policy-making processes, and, most importantly, facilitating opportunities for mutual learning. PASCAL operates globally from four regional offices around the world, based at RMIT University, Melbourne, (covering Australia and Asia), the University of Glasgow (covering Europe), University of South Africa, Pretoria (covering Africa) and Northern Illinois University covering North and South America. PASCAL is co-directed by Professor Mike Osborne in Glasgow, Professor Catherine Odora Hoppers in Pretoria, Professor Bruce Wilson in RMIT and Paul Crawford at NIU. Operations are co-ordinated through the the Pascal Office by Dr Alan Foster, Executive Officer, based at Glasgow University.
PASCAL has an extensive network of expert associates who all have experience in senior positions in governmental and other public bodies and in academic institutions, who can be mobilised rapidly to offer expert advice and research to member and client organisations, from an international perspective.
