Chia-Pin Kao is a professor in the Department of Child Care and Education at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST, Taiwan, R.O.C.). During his academic study at the university, he incorporated professional knowledge from various disciplines (e.g., teacher education, web-based learning, science education, and educational technology) into pre-school teachers’ professional development; technology enhanced learning research and applications. His cross-disciplinary research interests involve methods in technology enhanced learning for teachers and children. It’s also important to use gamification learning to enhance children’s imagination and think creatively. Now his professional experience is focused on the fields of technology enhanced learning and STEAM education.
Chia-Pin was appointed as project leader for Science Volunteer of Ministry of Science and Technology in 2013. In his present role, Chia-Pin has built up a wealth of experience in driving and contributing to volunteering research and non-profit organization. He continues to place a high level of importance on supporting the development of science volunteer through effective collaborative approaches.
Prof. Kao has more than 30 publications in the fields of education and technology, including more than 15 ISI-SSCI-indexed journal articles. He also served the conference committee member (GCCCE) and the reviewer of many international journals (including more than 10 SSCI journals).
