Hatem Elaydi received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (Summa cum Laude) from Colorado Technical University, Colorado Springs, USA in 1990, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, USA in 1993 and 1997 respectively. He is currently an assistant professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at the Islamic University of Gaza, Gaza, Palestine. He was the assistant dean for projects and research at the College of Engineering during 2000/2001. He held the position of head of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering in 2001-2003. He was also assistant dean of the College of Engineering for Projects and Quality Assurance in 2003/2004. He also held the position of chairman of the Resources Development Center at the Islamic University of Gaza in 2005-2007. He was a founding member of the Quality Assurance Unit at the Islamic University of Gaza. He is an IEEE member since 1988. He established the IEEE Student Branch at the Islamic University of Gaza in 1999 and was counselor of the branch. He is a certified regional quality assurance evaluator by the UNDP regional office since 2003. He was a member of the Palestinian national team that evaluated all IT and Engineering programs in 2005-2007. His research interests focus on control systems, digital signal processing, digital image and speech processing, and quality assurance in higher education. He authored and coauthored several papers and conducted several national workshops. He was member of either program committees, steering committees, or technical committees of regional and international conferences. He supervised award winning senior projects ( IEEE 2001, Hisham Hejawi 2002, Zohair Hejawi 2007). He is member of editorial board for the International Arab Journal of e-Technology (IAJeT), member of Technical committee for the International Arab Journal on Information Technology, Technical Editor for the Information Technology Journal, Technical Editor for the Journal of Applied Sciences, and Technical Editor for the journal of Trends in Applied Sciences Research.
