Learning in later life: My Taiwanese experience | By Dr Brian Findsen

Over recent months (September 2019 to January 2020) I have been visiting Taiwan on three occasions, accompanied by my wife, Caterina. On two previous occasions (2013; 2018) I had presented at Later Life Learning conferences (Chiayi; Taipei), as a guest of the Department of Adult & Continuing Education (DACE) at the National Chung Cheng University (CCU). In September/October, October/November and January of this year, I was a visiting scholar at CCU helping with teaching, research and staff development.

National Intergenerational Conference - Wed 4th March 2020, Glasgow

Generations Working Together is excited to launch the programme for their National Intergenerational Conference on Wednesday 4th March 2020 in the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. Everybody should become a tutor in the community: CR&DALL Seminar, 29th January 2020 - Tiina Tambaum

In the twenty-first century non-professional tutors, including teenagers, have an important role to play in the development of contemporary skills among the older population.  The aim of the seminar is to describe the instructional design for teenage tutors' instruction in order to prepare them to become a facilitator for older persons’ in e-skill learning.

The Horizon 2020 project ENLIVEN has come to an end

The Horizon 2020 project ENLIVEN – Encouraging Lifelong Learning for an Inclusive and Vibrant Europe – has come to an end. The project – worth EUR 2.5 million – brought together partners from nine European countries and included a self-funded partner from Australia.

Lifelong Learning: Preparing for Our Future World, HELLIN Conference 2019

The Higher Education Lifelong Learning in Ireland Network (HELLIN) is an all-island body that advocates for the interests of the adult and mature student populations in universities and institutes of technology across the island North and South. Its aim is to inform policy relating to all aspects of adult education and lifelong learning whether these be Workplace or Work-based Learning, Continuing Professional Development, Recognition of Prior Learning, Adult and Community Education and older learners.
