Supporting local learning frameworks

The Australian Centre of Excellence for Local Government (ACELG) at UTS has released a new resource to help local governments create, adopt, and evaluate a Community Learning Plan for local government areas.

GlobalGirl Media in the UK

We're launching GlobalGirl Media in the UK! The five year old organization uplifts young women in underserved communities by giving them a voice through the creation of videos.

Food Security Fund - £14 million

The themes for the Global Food Security programme were announced on 29 May. They are:

Enhancing productivity;
Resilience and sustainability of agricultural landscapes;
Increasing resilience of international supply chains; and
Influencing food choice for health, sustainability and resilience at the individual and household level.

Smart Learning Ecosystems in Smart Regions and Cities - Last call for papers

The Smart City is moving beyond a few exemplars to the mainstream and is also developing into Smart Regions that incorporate Smart Farms and Villages. The technical and data infrastructure to support these now exist in many cities and regions across the world.

Glasgow - the Nurturing City

We hear of a lot of city titles, and CR&DALL susbcribers may be interested in one of the titles used here in Glasgow - the Nurturing City. I attach my own report to the city's Children and Families Policy Development Committee, and a report of research undertaken by the University of Stirling. I look forward to your comments.
