To coincide with the launch of its programme on the resilience of the UK food system, the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) is holding an event to bring together researchers in relevant fields. The event will be held on 20 July at the Gand Connaught Rooms in London. Researchers from biological, environmental and social sciences, as well as policymakers and representatives from industry, are invited.
The event will include a guide to the programme's calls and a workshop on how it can help to inform policy and address industry needs. Two hours in the afternoon have been set aside for "elevator pitches" and networking.
The programme—called Resilience of the UK Food System in a Global Context—will integrate biological, environmental and social sciences to support interdisciplinary projects addressing: how to enhance the productivity, resilience and sustainability of agriculture; how to increase the resilience of supply chains; and how to influence food choice for health, sustainability and resilience at the household level
