Work-based and work-related learning in higher education for adult learners is seen as crucial to address the predicted labour market skills gap identified in such communiques as: New Skills for New Jobs Anticipating and matching labour market and skills needs; and, An Agenda for new skills and jobs: A European contribution towards full employment as part of the Europe 2020 strategy.

Latest Issue of Journal of Adult and Continuing Education dedicated to Jarl Bengtsson

The latest Issue of Journal of Adult and Continuing Education edited by guest editor, Hans Schuetze has been dedicated to the work of Jarl Bengtsson.

It contains articles from many of his close colleagues in PASCAL and within the OECD, including Hans himself, Chris Duke, Peter Kearns, Steve Garlick, Catherine Odora Hoppers, Bruce Wilson, Muir Houston and myself.

Policies and Practice of Quality Assurance and Control in Higher Education

The School of Education, Tianjin Normal University, with strong support from the Higher Education Special Interest Group of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES), the Canadian Society for the Study of Higher Education (CSSHE), the Chinese Council for the Study of Higher Education (CCSHE), and the Centre for Policy Studies in Higher Education and Training of the University of British Columbia at Vancouver, Canada, is pleased to announce that it will host the 12th International Workshop on Higher Education Reform (HER), October 21-23, 2015.

OEPS advisory forum

Opening Educational Practices in Scotland - open advisory forum The OEPS project has a focus on open education in the context of widening participation and transitions and we are very keen to have a broad range of participants at the event. It should also be of interest to anyone interested in learning and teaching and curriculum development.
