The Glasgow-Peking Symposium on Co-imagining Shared Futures of Higher Education in Diverse Contexts, Histories, Cultures, and Traditions will take place in Glasgow on 22nd/23rd July 2025. More details and Call for Contributions attached.
CRADALL will host a symposium exploring the topic of HE Futures in Diverse Contexts on 22/23 July 2025.
The symposium will take place in Glasgow, at teh Advanced Research Centre of the University of Glasgow.
The symposium aims to challenge normalising, homogenising narratives of global HE. Contributions are invited on themes including but not limited to:
- Disciplinarity, interdisciplinarity, and transdisciplinarity: reimagining university structures, teaching, and research
- Universities and local/indigenous knowledges
- Technological hegemony and strategies for resistance or avoidance
- Alternative values of higher education and ways of measuring or expressing them
- Tensions between internationalisation and local relevance/service
- Contested issues in internationalisation of higher education and academic mobility
- The roles and outcomes of higher education in the age of AI
The symposium will be output- and action-oriented, and we plan to stimulate Briefing Papers as well as future research collaborations and either an edited book or Special Issue.

Deadline for abstract submission: 30th April 2025.
Deadline for registration: 20th May 2025.
Symposium: 22nd/23rd July 2025.
