Today, 18 June 2024, CORE-NbS was launched, bringing together 14 universities in Africa and Europe through a partnership between the African Research Universities Alliance and the Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities. CRADALL is represented in the cluster by Simon McGrath, who will be focusing particularly on researcher development and education/skills for climate change adaptation and mitigation. Glasgow is also represented through the School of Social and Environmental Sustainability.

The School of Education at the University of Glasgow is part of a 5 university consortium that has just been awarded £2,4m for the VETPrep project by the European Union. The Glasgow team consists of CR&DALL core members Simon McGrath and Geng Wang, and Oscar Valiente.
In the last 4 years, support from the European Union has enabled the Jean Monnet Network on Social and Scientific Innovation to Achieve the SDGs to explore a range questions related to the acheivement of the SDGs.
We are delighted to be holding a R&D workshop from 1-4 June to support the establishment of our first R&D board within the Ministry of Education in Kurdistan. With the invaluable support of colleagues from ten UK universities, we are aiming to create a highly influential board that will drive impactful research, fostering societal and economic advancements.
We are pleased to inform subscribers that our article "Learning from the past for the future: Signposts and landmark anniversaries in adult learning and education" has been published online in the International Review of Education. This article which Maria Slowey, Khau Phuoc and I have written is an an Introduction to the International Reseach in Education Special Issue on ALE Signposts, and was started with the late Chris Duke some time ago.
