Welcome to the May 2017 edition of The Scholarship Project newsletter which includes latest news and updates aiming to support the development and embedding of a distinct higher education scholarly ethos the further education sector.
We kick off the news this week with some inspiring stories of people whose lives have been transformed by lifelong learning, updates on some fantastic professional development in the ACE sector (including our upcoming conference in Hobart) and expert views on the limitations of changes to the VET system signalled in last week's budget.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a global plan of action “for people, planet and prosperity”, encompassing both social and environmental concerns. Participation of all members of society is central to meeting and monitoring the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The landscapes of higher education have been changing rapidly, with enormous growths in participation rates in many countries across the world and major developments and changes within institutions. The language needed to conceptualise and understand these changes have not been keeping pace. This seminar will address these issues and consider how we can move to a better understanding of the changing nature of higher education.
