Whoever we are, wherever we live across Europe, we are presented with opportunities to learn every day of our life. Beyond the classroom, we can acquire valuable knowledge, skills and competences -, through training courses, online learning, and in our daily lives whether at work, at home or during leisure time.
I was invited to speak to the 4th Global Forum on Lifelong Learning, Suwon, Korea, June 2016. This gathering of 600 people drawn from government, academia and practice was organised by Gyeonggi Institution for Lifelong Learning (GILL).
At our recent meeting of the Executive Committee in July, we discussed at various points in the meeting, the focus on our international dimension and UALL’s increasing presence in international Lifelong Learning events and conferences.
Dr Margaret Sutherland, one of the University of Glasgow's experts in high ability studies, has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Margaret told CR&DALL:
"Education is crucial to developing an inclusive and just society and I am honoured that the RSA thought of me for fellowship. Strengthening capacity within and through teachers and teacher education will, in turn, strengthen a country’s capacity to build an inclusive learning environment and society. I look forward to working with the RSA in this area in the future".
