On Friday 18th November, BALID (the British Association for Literacy in Development) will be hosting a seminar in central London entitled 'Weaving literacy through lifelong learning’. Our keynote speaker, Dr Ulrike Hanemann, of UNESCO's Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) will address the topic: Promoting lifelong learning: incorporating multi-sector approaches to literacy.
This webinar is for adult language, literacy and numeracy practitioners to come together and look at aspects of quality assessment. It provides an excellent opportunity to gain external validation of tasks mapped to the Australian core Skills Framework (ACSF).
We are pleased to share the second issue of our newsletter for 2016. This has been an exciting quarter of the year for the expansion of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC). We have not only had the pleasure to welcome almost 50 members from 22 countries to the Network, we have also opened the UNESCO Learning City Award 2017 for applications and are now cordially inviting UNESCO GNLC members to apply.
