The European Commission's Education and Training Monitor 2014, which in its Volume 1 in three sections sets out the Case for Education, Qualifications and Competences and Education Policy Levers for Building Growth. A second volume provides 28 country reports for the member states.

Speaking in Glasgow recently, Judith Rodin, President of the Rockefeller Foundation, drew attention to Glasgow's role as one of the first cities selected to be part of the 100 Resilient Cities programme, pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation.
