Congratulations to a team led Dr Zoe Strachan, School of Critical Studies, University of Glasgow, and which includes Dr Mia Perry, core CR&DALL member, and Professor George Olusola Ajibade from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria that has just won £20,000 from the British Academy within the Global Challenges Research Programme to a workshop for early career researchers in Africa.
We are pleased to report a new project funded by VVOB Education for Development in Brussels with a grant of €29,658 that is being led by CR&DALL core member, Professor Ellen Boeren and also involves Dr Srabani Maitra, also a CR&DALL core member, and Dr Dong Nguyen, a lecturer in the School of Education.
Abstracts are invited for an international workshop on Citizenship and Education in Global Contexts. The workshop will be held online (Zoom) on 6th & 7th July 2021 and is free to attend.
We are pleased to share a report published today, called Data Poverty in Scotland and Wales . The research is the first we are aware of that tries to understand the scale and depth of data poverty in Wales and Scotland.
In this issue, the Work and Learning Network have included a fantastic spotlight contribution from Dr Stan Lester who has a unique perspective on degree apprenticeships, some useful updates from the Government regarding COVID-19 reopening plans, and some notes on UALL’s engagement with the new debates surrounding lifelong learning and UVAC’s timely State of the Nation event.
