We are pleased to share the second issue of our newsletter for 2016. This has been an exciting quarter of the year for the expansion of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC). We have not only had the pleasure to welcome almost 50 members from 22 countries to the Network, we have also opened the UNESCO Learning City Award 2017 for applications and are now cordially inviting UNESCO GNLC members to apply.
John Holford has asked me to circulate details of a vacancy at the University of Nottingham for a Senior Research Fellow to work on a Horizon 2020 project ("Encouraging Lifelong Learning for an Inclusive and VIbrant Europe: ENLIVEN).
We want to inform you that universities of Frankfurt and Tübingen will receive funding for a PhD school the formation of transiitons in the life course. Please find attached an advertisement for 12 PhD positions and 1 postdoc position.
It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the ASEM Forum on Lifelong Learning: 21st Century Skills on 3-5 October 2016 at Danish School of Education, Aarhus University in Copenhagen, Denmark. The forum is highly relevant because there is an urgent need to discuss this topic. In the contemporary economic crisis we need new visions for skills and effective models for lifelong learning.
