JOINT SEMINAR - "Learning in later life: Concepts, exemplars and contemporary issues"

We are happy to announce the continuation of our collaboration with the Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Strathclyde through a joint seminar to be given by Professor Brian Findsen of the University of Waikato, New Zealand (and a weel-kent face in Glasgow, being former Head of DACE at the University of Glasgow). Brian's seminar will take place on the 22nd of August and full details of location and time are given on the attached flyer.

Agricultural R&D spend falls in 13 African countries

Agricultural R&D spend fell in 13 African countries between 2008 and 2011, according to The Atlas of African Agriculture Research and Development published on 30 June. 

The map, produced by the Washington-based International Food Policy Research Institute, shows that agricultural research investments in many sub-Saharan African countries are “well below the levels required”.

The EU project PROVIDE (PROmoting the Validation of Informal and non-formal learning and the Development of key competences for professionals in vocational Education) aims at developing and piloting a learning approach for educational professionals in vocational education and training (VET) to promote and validate the development of their professional key competences.
