We are very pleased to announce that Nematollah Azizi from the University of Kurdistan, Iran, has been appointed as Leverhulme Visiting Professor within the School of Education at the University of Glasgow, hosted within CR&DALL. We are most grateful to the Leverhulme Trust for funding this position from January 2023 for 12 months, and very much look forward to Nematollah's stay with us. He was previously a collaborator in our British Academy, Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF)- funded project, Strengthening Urban Engagement of Universities in Asia and Africa (SUEUAA).

CR&DALL Themes:

This project has been brought to CR&DALL by Anna Wilson, who recently joined us from the University of Stirling. Two interconnected, mutually exacerbating global trends are putting an ever-increasing number of people at risk of environmental hazards or disasters: the climate crisis and increasing urbanization.

CR&DALL Themes:

Call for Abstracts: new international handbook of teaching and research on adult learning and education.

I want to make everyone aware of a new international handbook which might be of interest to members of CR&DALL. The deadline for abstracts is not until 19th January - 300 - 500 words - so this gives a bit of time. There are a number of forms for the writing, including a dialogue with contributors which I, and the other editors Nalita James and Kevin Orr, would be happy to discuss if of interest to anyone.
