CMAtlv, World Committee for Lifelong Learning in collaboration with the City of Trades of Paris La Villette – Universcience, and the Learning Planet Institute (formerly CRI) will be offering as a hybrid event, a conference/debate concerning Education for Sustainable Development at Amphi Painlevé, City of Science and Industry, 30 Av Corentin Cariou, 75019 Paris.

The event will be presented in two languages, French and English with simultaneous interpretation by Claire Simon on 23 January 2023 from 1730-1930, Paris Time. To pre-register please email [email protected] specifying if you wish to come on site or participate remotely.

The Conference/debate seeks to take stock of Sustainable Development education for all audiences: what has been done and what should be done.

For 80 to 90 minutes there will be presentations by the speakers, then for 30 to 40 minutes, questions and debates with the public. Speakers and participants are both face-to-face and remote.

The speakers are:

  • Jean Jouzel, paleoclimatologist, member of the IPCC, author of a report aimed at better integrating ecological issues into higher education.
  • François Taddei, polytechnician, president of the Learning Planet Institute (ex-CRI).
  • Mark Fettes, Associate Professor, Faculty of Education, Simon Fraser University (Vancouver, Canada) - DIrector, Center for Imagination in Research, Culture and Education - Former President, Universal Esperanto Association
  • Nicolas Graves, student, member of the Collective "For an ecological awakening". What are the different reactions of young people to ecological crises? How young people react and prepare.
