We are delighted to announce the release of the Routledge volume on 'Global Citizenship for Adult Education: Advancing Critical Literacies for Equity and Social Justice', edited by Petra A. Robinson, Kamala V. Williams, and Maja Stovanovic. The volume comprises a collection of a groundbreaking projects in the field of youth and adult education, in which 43 scholars from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the United States, examine how to promote equity and social justice through global citizenship and lifelong learning, that integrates the development of critical literacies as integral to adult education.

How will we remember 2021? The year of COVID-19 (variant Delta) and what it meant to oneself, one’s family, community, life, work, even country?. Sherwan's predicament is part of what has been described by Amnesty International as human rights abuse in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. According to investigations by Amnesty International, ‘In mid-August 2020, widespread protests erupted in the KR-I, mainly in Sulaimaniyah, Duhok and Erbil, demanding an end to corruption, better public services, and the payment of overdue salaries of government employees'.

CR&DALL and the Gendered Journeys project, funded by the ESRC within the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF), will be presenting a Gender and Sustainability event as part of the University of Glasgow, School of Education’s ‘Educating Today to save Tomorrow’ series in the run-up to COP-26 in Glasgow.

DVV International supported research on the development of ALE (Adult Learning and Education) in the Central Asian Countries of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in 2020 during the time of the COVID 19 pandemic. National consultants in each of the three countries cooperated with a team of international experts, and they all worked along a common outline which was prepared as part of the project development. In addition to the country studies a comparative synthesis review was prepared also. Full versions of the country and the regional reports are available from DVV international.
