The SUEUAA (Strengthening the Urban Engagement of Universities in Africa and Asia) project held its final partner meeting on 8-9 May, 2019 at the University of Zimbabwe, to discuss final outputs and reports for the project. Partners were also given a tour of the facilities at the University of Zimbabwe and met with a number of academics including the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr Oswell Hapanyengwi.
CR&DALL core member, Lesley Doyle, will be presenting outcomes from her research concerning the education, training and work aspirations of young Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Greece and the UK funded through a GCRF ESRC project within the council’s Force Migration call at a Policy Scotland lunchtime seminar on Tuesday 25 June 2019 at 1230. The Centre for Open Learning at the University of Edinburgh will be looking for a new external examiner to take over when the current post holder demits at the end of this academic session. The duties include oversight of our popular Short Courses in Film, Media and Contemporary Cultures; Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences; and Social, Political and Legal Studies, and of courses in these subject areas on our International Foundation Programme.
This week we are hosting colleagues from many countries who are participating in our GCRF research project. We are located all this week at the MRC/CSO unit in town.
