Extended deadline: IV ESREA Network conference: “Adult Education and Learning Policy in a World Risk Society”

To accomodate requests by a number of colleagues we have have extended the deadline for submission to the Fourth Conference of the ESREA Network on Policy Studies in Adult EducationAdult Education and Learning Policy in a World Risk Society will take place on 16-18 May 2019, at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, Prague, the Czech Republic.

Decolonising the curriculum: what’s all the fuss about?

This event will provide an opportunity for colleagues from across Birkbeck and beyond to engage with the ‘decolonising the curriculum’ in higher education debate. Contributors will include Dr William Ackah, lecturer in community and voluntary sector studies at Birkbeck, Ezimma Chigbo from the Birkbeck Students’ Union and Dr Kerry Harman, from Birkbeck’s Research Centre for Social Change and Transformation in Higher Education.

The role of universities in developing skills for Smart Cities - New Delhi, December 6th, 2018

As part of a project entitled, The role of universities in developing skills for Smart Cities, funded by the Scottish Funding Council from its contribution to the University of Glasgow’s efforts to develop activities concerned with the Global Challenges Research Fund, a group of academics from the University of Glasgow (Dr Srabani Maitra, Professor Mike Osborne, Dr Seth Agbo) visited New Delhi to participate in a Roundtable hosted and organised by the Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) organisation.
