The presentation reports on the study supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research grant N 17-3601125 “Functional Literacy of Highly Qualified Scientific and Pedagogical Personnel in Russia and the UK: Outcomes of the International Comparative Study”.
The two presenters will summarize the findings of their desk research on literacy/functional literacy/functional illiteracy and country- specific challenges as follows:
On 21st/22nd September we were delighted to host at the School of Education, University of Glasgow, Professor Jian Huang (Deputy Director of the Institute of Vocational and Adult Education, East China Normal University) and her colleague Mr. Duang Wenlong, who travelled to us after having been at the UNESCO Learning Cities conference in Cork.
The Annual Conference is the high point of the UALL year, and we are pleased that the 2018 Conference will be held at Downing College, Cambridge, between Wednesday 21 and Friday 23 March. The theme of Opportunities for lifelong learning in a changing world has strands addressing the context of lifelong learning which enhances local, regional and global development.
