I'm pleased to let you know about a number of publications and press features relating to the Sustainable Futures in Africa (SFA) network, an interdisciplinary collective that brings together researchers, educators, and communities of practice that acknowledge the situated and complex nature of practices and conceptions of sustainability. The Network aims to build understanding, research, and practice in socio-ecological sustainability in Africa.
Amelie von Zweigbergk, who was on the board of the European Association for the Education of Adults, is scouting for possible laureates for the Right Livelihood Award.
This seminar explores the character of learning in later life from varied perspectives. What are defining features of learning in later life? What issues for stakeholders loom beneath the surface? What might constitute exemplars of practice in this field in an international context? What benefits is it possible to strongly link to learning in later life? These and related questions form the basis of this seminar which will combine presentation of ideas from the seminar leader and views from participants through constructive dialogue.
This free 1-day event is part of a planned data workshop series at the Urban Big Data Centre. In the first in the series we will focus on the data and collection methods of our unique, cutting edge Integrated Multimedia City Data (iMCD) project. The purpose of this workshop is to help understand the data better, develop research ideas, share experiences, and explore collaboration potential. We are inviting a multi-disciplinary group who have already applied to use the iMCD datasets or have shown a keen interest in the project.
The PROFIT project has completed its second year of development and is well under way to delivering its financial awareness platform to the public for educational, institutional and corporate uses. Stay tuned for the PROFIT platform prototype later this summer!
