Briefing Paper 3: The role of Stakeholders in Peacebuilding

This briefing paper focusses on the role of stakeholders in peacebuilding which are defined as actors coming together to participate and cooperate at different levels for the sake of building peaceful societies. We aim to showcase that the active participation of different actors and organisations has a significant impact on the development of peacebuilding projects.

This paper contains the vision and experience shared by Rotary International as a global stakeholder that has had peacebuilding at its core since its founding in 1905.

The CR&DALL project, Educational Peacebuilding in Medellin and Acapulco: Understanding the role of education, culture and learning in responding to crises, is funded by the British Academy under its Education and Learning in Crisis programme through the UK’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy via the Global Challenges Research Fund from March 2020 to December 2021.
