The poster featured below summarises research from the integrated Multimedia City Data (iMCD) project, which will form the first data product of the Urban Big Data Centre (UBDC). Catherine Lido presented this at the OEPS Forum on Thursday 5th November 2015. She also presented preliminary work conducted with Mike Osborne in the area of older adult learning engagement in and around the City of Glasgow.
Although adult learners were found to engage less in all forms of learning (including family and self-led learning), there was a sub-sample of very engaged older adults who were more likely to be working, carers, posting online and engaging physically in and around their neighbourhood and the city centre. Possibilities for research with the final data product (available in early 2016) were discussed.
