A reminder about this year's Frisby Memorial Lecture, which takes place this Friday.

We are extremely glad to be welcoming Prof. Erik Olin Wright to Glasgow for this event.

Prof. Wright is Professor of Sociology at the University of Wisconsin (Madison). He is one of the world's leading analysts of contemporary class formation, and his work in this area has been of influence across the social sciences and beyond. More recently, in addition to acting as President of the American Sociological Association, he has been a leading figure in the 'Real Utopias' project, which has been concerned with investigating practical proposals and models for social change [http://www.ssc.wisc.edu/~wright/RealUtopias.htm]. Prof. Wright will be reflecting on this work in his address: 'Transforming Capitalism Through Real Utopias'.

The lecture will take place in the Boyd Orr Lecture Theatre 2, from 16.00-18.00, this Friday 1st March.

All are very welcome to attend, and to join us for drinks after the lecture.
