CR&DALL member Professor Ellen Boeren paid a visit to UCLA this May. During her 3 weeks in Los Angeles, she worked with Dr Jan Kalenda, currently a Fulbright scholar at UCLA, and previously a visiting scholar at the University’s of Glasgow School of Education. Professor Boeren and Dr Kalenda also met with Professor Richard Desjardins, core staff at UCLA, who has vast experience in researching varieties in Adult Learning Systems as well as in working with large scale survey data, including the Programme for International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC).
Professor Boeren actively contributed to two UCLA classes in the School of Education organised by Professor Desjardins. She spoke with students about her contribution to participation research during her career to date and provided them with feedback on their work during presentation sessions.
Professor Boeren’s visit to UCLA has been important to further maintain and consolidate our extensive CR&DALL networks across the globe.
