UNESCO-APNIEVE: New Research on School-Community Partnerships

News

UNESCO-APNIEVE Australia Publishing is proud to present its new publication:

School-Community Involvement by Dr. Carolyn Gregoric

A handbook for educators and the community

A comprehensive, qualitative study on the impact of community and business on schools in Australia based on the premise that the whole community, not just schooling, plays an important role in student learning. It deepens understanding of the factors facilitating and hindering effective school-community relationships and how engagement can enhance student learning and wellbeing.

This research extends current studies of the dynamics and complexities of the school-community interface, thereby making a significant contribution to the field applicable globally.

Reviews:

Dr Gregoric is to be applauded for tackling a complex set of issues relating to community involvement in schools and for contributing to understanding the under-examined phenomenon of school-community partnerships.

Dr. Catherine Hands, Brock University, Canada

The author is to be congratulated on her original, clearly articulated and thoroughly researched contribution to this field of knowledge. The findings are likely to be of interest to any school or community/business interested in gaining a better understanding of school-community relationships.

Dr. Michele Lonsdale, Australian Council for Educational Research
