Learning outcomes
On completion of this training participants will:
Intergenerational Practice
- Be clear about what intergenerational practice actually is, and how it can be defined.
- Understand how planned intergenerational practice can be relevant to meeting policy aims in different areas of social policy, community development and work with children, families and older people
- Understand the relationship between intergenerational practice activities, policy and outcomes
Bringing Groups Together
- Understand how to bring generations together effectively, meeting challenges and overcoming barriers
- Understand the importance of bringing different generations together during a staged process
- Be able to address stereotyping through a range of activities
- Have experience of approaches which aim to make intergenerational practice activity accessible and inclusive
Evaluation
- Understand the importance of monitoring and evaluating intergenerational practice activities and projects in a planned way
- Understand ways of assessing the potential impact which intergenerational practice may have on participants and within communities
- Be aware of and understand a range of approaches to monitoring and evaluation
- Understand the issues around participation and involvement in monitoring and evaluation processes
- Be aware of a range of methods of presenting information and evidence collected during monitoring and evaluation
