This free 1-day event is part of a planned data workshop series at the Urban Big Data Centre. In the first in the series we will focus on the data and collection methods of our unique, cutting edge Integrated Multimedia City Data (iMCD) project. The purpose of this workshop is to help understand the data better, develop research ideas, share experiences, and explore collaboration potential. We are inviting a multi-disciplinary group who have already applied to use the iMCD datasets or have shown a keen interest in the project.
We will begin with a selection of inspiring presentations giving a thorough background to the data collection and demonstrating a wide variety of research uses that the data has already been put to. A lunch will be provided followed by smaller group discussions led by iMCD researchers to offer guidance and research development ideas on working with this wide variety of data types including: survey data, GPS/spatial data, image data and social media data.
Participants in this event will have the opportunity to:
- Learn more about working with multiple strands of data;
- Develop their research plans;
- Identify potential individual or collaborative projects to seek funding for.
