The Adult Education in Global Times conference will take place 3-6 June 2021. Originally scheduled for June 2020 at the University of British Columbia campus in Vancouver, the event will now happen online. The conference hosts presentations from active adult education scholars across the world including a number of researchers from CR&DALL.
Professor Ellen Boeren will actively participate in three sessions. She will contribute to the ‘Academic publishing’ workshop as one of the editors of Adult Education Quarterly, will present at a Symposium on ‘Adult Education and Social Class’ initiated by Professor Tom Nesbit and will discuss the results of an examination of UIL’s Global Report on Adult Learning and Education (GRALE) programme together with colleagues Kjell Rubenson, Shirley Walters and Ashley Stepanek.
Professor Bonnie Slade will contribute to a session on ‘Learner-centred education and adult education for migrants’ together with colleagues from the IMAESC programme and will discuss ‘International online partnerships: Building cooperative global citizenship amid local particularities’ with Amy Pickard.
Glasgow PhD student Nic Dickson will present her work on ‘Creating delicate spaces: Engaging ‘vulnerable’ young women in nonformal, arts-informed adult learning’.
