One of the most rewarding outcomes of the WHEC 2022 was the discovery that the key messages from the three major global reports and the Roadmap for the Future of Higher Education reflected nearly all the key messages of the advocacy work of the UNESCO Chair in Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education over the past 15 years with Higher Education and Open Science policy development:

• Community-based participatory research
• Inter- & multi-disciplinarity
• Openness to multiple epistemologies, Indigenous knowledges and
• Community university engagement in teaching, research, and outreach
