A Policy Forum, entitled Transforming Education and Training in Australia – Challenges and Opportunities, was held on 15 February 2023 at RMIT University which aimed to contribute to the current policy conversations on transformation from the perspective of employment, education and skills development that ensures the principles of equity, gender, and sustainability.
We were very pleased that Professor Ellen Boeren, CR&DALL core member presented the Perspectives from Europe as part of the panel that explored the ‘Policy initiatives in job and skills and inclusive lifelong learning for adults’, together with presentations from the Hon. Brendan O'Connor, Australian Minister of Skills, and Training and Mr Craig Robertson, CEO, of the Victorian Skills Authority.
The forum was hosted by the Australian Coalition for Education and Development (ACED), Adult Learning Australia (ALA), Women in Adult and Vocational Education (WAVE), the Jean Monnet Network on Social and Scientific Innovation on Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, (within which CR&DALL is a partner), and the European Union Centre of Excellence at RMIT University.
Ellen’s PowerPoint presentation and the overall programme of the forum are featured below and attached. Also attached is the media release about the Policy Forum.
A recording of the Policy Forum is embedded below and is also available on the Adult Learning Australia website.
