The UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) together with the Korean Ministry of Education, the Korean National Commission for UNESCO, the municipalities of Suwon and Osan and the National Institute for Lifelong Education (NILE) in the Republic of Korea have joined efforts to organize this international conference.

The conference will develop ways to further improve conditions and create supportive environments for adult learners worldwide based on the Sustainable Development Agenda. It will focus on ways to enhance collaboration between ministries, institutions and individuals to improve progress in Adult Learning and Education based on the findings of the third Global Report on Adult Learning and Education (GRALE III), published last year. It will also set the stage for the Seventh International Conference on Adult Education to be held in 2021.
