CR&DALL is delighted to invite you to this exciting seminar presented by Wade Rathke, Chief Organiser of ACORN International.

Drawing on his wealth of experience in supporting Community Organizing across the world, Wade will outline the challenges facing marginalised communities, how communities are organizing to meet these challenges and what are the principles for effective practice to support sustainable social change.

This seminar will be of particular interest to CLD workers and students and anyone working in the field of community action and social change.

About the speaker

Wade Rathke is the founder and Chief Organizer of ACORN International, a federation of membership based community organizations in 14 countries including Canada, India, Kenya, Scotland and many Latin American countries.  Previously he was founder and Chief Organizer of ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, in the United States from 1970 to 2008.  He publishes the journal, Social Policy, manages the 100000 watt radio station, KABF-FM, and is the author of "Citizen Wealth, Global Grassroots" and "The Battle for the Ninth Ward", as well as the forthcoming, "Nuts and Bolts:  The ACORN Way of Organizing".
