This conference has provided an excellent opportunity to bring together representatives of continuing education and distance education in Turkey to learn about the challenges and approaches to delivery of e-learning in other countries.

The participants have discussed many issues particularly those related to quality and accreditation and how-learning can assist with the development of lifelong learning in cities and regions.

The discussions have inspired us to learn more about how lifelong learning can encourage greater public engagement for the benefit of local communities and individuals and we very much look forward to further cooperation with [our colleagues from the UK] in the future.
