Recently I had the opportunity to go to a London meeting of the Health Literacy Group during which it was announced that there would be a major conference in Glasgow next March (details below).

I formed the opinion that this work was not currently well connected to the wider reaches of the adult literacy movement (they're influenced by health & medical interests) and wondered if wider dimensions could be of offered through your networks, especially the Urban Big Data Centre.

I understand that there is likely to be a new Department of Health circular in the autumn that will deal with these matters and may then have relevance for AE practitioners & policy makers.
