On 12 September 2019, the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) and the Department for Lifelong Learning at Hamburg University will host a high-level seminar on Literacy and Lifelong Learning in Hamburg, Germany.
Researchers from the Simon Fraser University in Vancouver (Canada), Rutgers University (USA) and UIL will share their findings on topics such as ‘Adult learning in the control society’, ‘Adult Literacy Learners in the Research Literature’, and ‘Self-directedness and its relationships with lifelong learning and earnings in Yunnan, Vietnam, Germany, and the United States’. Interested persons are invited to attend the seminar and discuss the research results with the experts.
UIL is one of UNESCO’s specialized education institutes and is the only entity in the UN family that holds a global mandate for lifelong learning. It maintains close cooperation with the Department for Lifelong Learning at Hamburg University.
