Literacy as social practice: future directions and new challenges Kings College London, Dec 9, 2019

An opportunity for literacy practitioners and academics to share expertise and experience in the context of the SDGs and literacy.

BALID has organised this free day-conference in honour of our late President, Brian Street, with the help of Constant Leung of King's College, London, who are hosting, and Anna Robinson-Pant, UNESCO Chair in adult literacy and learning for social transformation at UEA. Our guest speaker is Professor David Bloome of Ohio State University.

The day will offer ample opportunity for small-group discussion as well as a plenary forum. Lunch at £10 per head will be available by preordering (more details will appear on the BALID website). The conference will be followed by the BALID AGM at 4.15pm and then a 5pm reception to which all are invited. For updates about the programme, check https://balid.org.uk and https://www.facebook.com/BALID.org.uk/.
