During May the Scotland Malawi Partnership is getting out of the office and embarking on a Scotland-Malawi Road trip to meet as many members as possible right across Scotland.
We'll have six evening events through May:
- Glasgow on the 18th May
- Edinburgh on the 19th May
- Dumfries on the 24th May
- Oban on the 26th May
- Inverness on the 30th May
- Aberdeen on the 31st May
At each event we want to hear about your link with Malawi, whatever area that is in. We will be asking members across the country to take the 3-minute challenge and tell everyone about your Malawi link - we're looking for the most inspiring 3-minute presentation in Scotland. Great prizes to be won; [Let us know when booking a place if would like to give 3-min presentation about your Malawi link]
At each event we will also kick off with a specific themed talk/discussion with some really interesting visitors from Malawi and SMP members telling us about their work. In addition to the specific themed content, at each event you'll be able to:
- Meet others locally with Malawi partnerships: share your experience and make new links;
- Meet local MPs and MSPs and tell them about your work with Malawi;
- Tell the Scotland Malawi Partnership what you want us to do to support your work 2017-20 (final consultation into Strategic Plan);
- Represent your Malawi links in the local media ;
- Make a 30-second video telling us about your link with Malawi;
- Meet the SMP team, have your say and catch up over an MGT;
- Enjoy Malawian music, tea, coffee and gin!
It would be great if you could join us for the Glasgow event (at Partick Burgh Hall, 18th May, 18:00-20:30). In addition to promoting the work of all our members across all our areas of partnership, this themed discussion for this event will focus on Culture.

At the end of the Road Trip we'll crown the 'most inspiring Scotland-Malawi city' for 2016, so come along to represent your city!
Once we get started you can follow the #SMPRoadTrip on Twitter and Instagram. As we travel across the country we're keen to visit as many members and projects as we can, posting photos and videos as we go. So if you're on route and want us to come and say hi to raise awareness of your Malawi links, just drop us a line.
And it's not just in Scotland either … keep your eyes peeled for the MaSP Malawi Road Trip later in the summer!
